I started working at SolDevelo as a Junior Software Developer in an open-source project. It was my very first job in the IT industry! At the time, the team was going through many significant changes. It encouraged me to learn and develop very quickly. After only a few months I became the main developer in the project, responsible for implementations.

It was important for me to make the most out of this job, and so I soon took the opportunity to engage in a new project. It was quite a challenge - I was tasked with preparing an application's backend in Ruby, a language I had no previous experience with. Since challenges are something I’m quite passionate about, I threw myself into the learning process, and gained a lot of new knowledge. This project filled me with motivation and helped me expand my development skills.

I also quickly entered the leadership path. I took part in a mentorship program, and became a Team Leader in the project in which I’d started out when I first joined SolDevelo. At the same time, I also joined the Product Department where, as a Mid Developer and a Team Leader, I can grow in both areas that I’m interested in.

I began my adventure as a Java Developer, working on the MOTECH application for Grameen Foundation. After 3 years of development work, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of a Team Leader in an open-source project for the VillageReach foundation. It allowed me to not only gain experience in leadership, but also to work closely with a Product Owner. During this project I learned a lot of things that came useful in 2018, when I myself became a Product Owner in the newly created SolDevelo Product Department. For quite some time I shared my attention between the tasks of a leader (and later Project Manager), and the responsibilities of a PO in the Product Department that was taking its first steps in the Atlassian ecosystem.

The Product Department, however, grew and developed, and the new products required a more focused approach. Eventually, I decided to concentrate solely on the vision and strategy of the Product Department. In 2022, we’ve reached the point at which our revenue was sufficient to support our small team. It allowed us to put more time into growing, expanding our competencies, and defining a long-term vision. It also became clear that the team needs a person who would take care of these topics and ensure further development. I gladly became that person - the Head of Product Department!
